Minera Huallanca S.A. is a anonymous society constitute in being
under the laws of the Peruvian Republic whose fiscal domicile
and administration office are located in
Sanchez Carriķn 451, San Isidro - Lima, phone (511) 6157700, fax (511)
6157712.
The Company has two mining units; Unit Pucarrajo, polimetalic
mine, located in Ancash department and operates to this day
with a concentrated plant and actual treatment capacity of 650
ton/day and; Contonga Project for rehabilitation of a former
mining operation also in Ancash department, which has
initiated operations in July 2006 with a concentrated plant and
actual treatment capacity of 600 ton/day.
The Company is a Castle Investments subsidiary, economic
group dedicated to minerals commercialisation and mining
operations.

Historical review
The Company was constituted on April, 1981 and the objective of
making exploration activities, develop and exploitation of
Pucarrajo minefields, property of Huanzala company. In 1982 –
1986 period, the company built a small plant to process minerals
with a 50 ton/day until 1988 year when the operations stopped.
Compaņia Minera Huallanca subscribed a mining transfer contract
with (BISA) to make exploration work of the minefield for two
years with adamantine perforation (1984 – 1985).
On May 1996 BHL PERU and Compaņia Minera Huallanca associate in
a JOINT VENTURE in order to make together mining workings of
exploration, developing, mining exploitation and plant
rehabilitation, operating again on September of same year,
making 110 ton/day until March 1998.
On March 1998 Cedimin SAC agreed with BHL Peru and
Compaņia Minera Huallanca a rights transfer and took in charge
operations on April of same year, impelling the exploration work
and increasing the production gradually to 500 ton/day level.
On May 30, 1988 Cedimin SAC resolved constitute a new
company to make this operations and changed its social
denomination from Compaņia Minera Huallanca S.A. to Minera
Huallanca SAC, and operates with this name until June 2005.
The Company developed an enlargement project for the
concentrated plant in Pucarrajo until 450 Ton/day between year
1999 and 2000 , completing its objective in 2001 in middle of
the metal price crisis. Normalize the new range of production on
April 2002 Cedimin SAC transfer its mining rights again to
BHL PERU and Minera Huallanca, who impelled the increase of
production to 600 ton/day that the volume process on the 1st
semester of 2005, prevent increase to 620 and 650 ton/day in the
3rd and 4th trimester of 2005
respectively.
In 2006 the Company has foreseen increase production to 700
ton/day.
On December 2003, obtained from Sociedad Minera Gran Bretaņa the
mining rights of Cantonga unit, proceeding to its rehabilitation
and make the environmental impact study (IES), that its has been
approved. The (IES) allows to the company treat 660 ton/day,
what it’s means in fact 990 ton/day tops (50% more).
